Exciting Dessert Recipes for Your Kids

It is just normal for kids to have a sweet tooth. They tend to feed on candies and chocolates all over again. There are parents who love experimenting with their kids in the kitchen doing dessert recipes that will truly be enjoyed once in a while. In this article, we’ll show you different kinds of desserts for your kids and how to do it in the simplest way.

Strawberry “cool brĂ»lĂ©e”

This is a dessert that has a creamy yogurt topped with whipped cream and a cream brulee-like sugar. You can prepare the ingredients for about 20 minutes and the final product will be done after 2 hours and 20 mins.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • ½ cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
  • Raw sugar; turbinado or demerara sugar

Directions:

Step 1: The first step is to divide the ingredients into 3 or 4 equal parts. You may add the measurements if you wish to make more than 4 bowls. Place each bowl with whipping cream.

Step 2:  With the use of an electric mixer, beat the whipping cream until it softens. Add the yogurt and spread the strawberries on top of each bowl.

Step 3: Sprinkle it with ½ teaspoon of turbinado or demerara sugar; you may add the measurement of the sugar depending on how sweet you prefer it to be. For best results, cover the bowls and chill it for about 2-5 hours.

Chewy chocolate caramel bars

This recipe is suitable for parties or for a usual weekend snack. It is made from chocolate cake mix and a mixture of caramel candies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of a chocolate mix (any brand)
  • 1 pack vanilla caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 1 cup ground or chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • â…” cup of evaporated milk
  • 1 cup of chocolate pieces (semi-sweetened.)

Directions:

Step 1: The first step is to check the ingredients. You can adjust the ingredients depending on how many will eat. Preheat the oven about 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure that your pan is greased. Set it aside first.

Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for your batters such as cake mix, half of the evaporated milk and the melted butter. Beat it with an electric mixer, make sure that it is free of lumps. Spread half of the batter into the greased pan; set aside the other half. 

Step 3: In a saucepan, combine the vanilla candy caramels and the other half of the evaporated milk. Place it over the stove ina medium-low heat, stir until melted and smooth. Pour this melted mixture over the batter created earlier in the greased pan and layer the remaining batter on top with the grated or chop walnuts.

Step 4: Bake it for about 30 minutes. After baking, you may eat it directly or you may place it in the fridge. This dessert will stay in your fridge for up to 3 months as long as it is placed in an airtight container. 

Avocado tomato toast

This is a healthy and affordable snack for your kids that they will truly love. You can only prepare this for 10 minutes, making it perfect for those who are in a rush but would still want their kid’s health their priority.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup avocado
  • 1 cup scallion; grated or finely chopped.
  • Any choice of bread; preferably whole grain bread
  • Olive oil
  • Sliced tomatoes

Directions:

Step 1: In a bowl, mash the avocado and toss with it the lemon juice and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 2: Toast the bread and evenly coat it with the avocado mixture. Arrange the sliced tomatoes on top of the mixture, it would depend on how many tomatoes you would like to put in your bread.

Step 3: Drizzle the bread with mixture and tomatoes with a little bit of olive oil to make it moist and presentable.

Ice cream waffle sundaes

This is an easy recipe that will let you finish it for about 20 minutes only. You can mix and match different flavors depending on your preference. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon of ice cream; you may choose depending on your preference
  • Giant or regular waffle ice-cream cones
  • ½ cup hot fudge-flavored ice cream topping
  • Sliced bananas or strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter or coffee
  • 1 cup chopped chocolates

Directions:

Step 1: In a large saucepan, mix in the ice cream topping and the coffee powder or the peanut butter, place it in the stove on medium-low heat. If it now has a smooth consistency, remove it from heat and let it cool. 

Step 2: Secure the waffle cones in a mug so that it won’t fall down while placing in the ice cream as well as the toppings. Place at least 1 or 2 scoops of ice cream in the waffles. 

Step 3: Top it with your fruit choice and drizzle it with your batter sauce. Sprinkle it with the chopped chocolates.

Pancakes

This is a dessert that is easy to do because technically you will just be mixing the ingredients. You can let your kids help you do this dessert as a form of your bonding and you can even let them do some simple task such as mixing the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon regular sugar 
  • Pinch of  salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 cups of  milk
  • 1-2 eggs
  • Choice of whip cream, syrup, fruits, and other desired toppings

Directions:

Step 1: The first step is to mix in all dry ingredients such as sugar, salt, baking soda, and flour. Leave a space at the center of the ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix beat the eggs, butter, milk, and vanilla and place it at the center of the dry ingredients. 

Step 2: You can combine all the ingredients manually but if you want to be sure that it will mix in free of lumps easier, make use of an electric mixer. 

Step 3: Brush or spray your non-stick with butter or cooking oil under a low heat setting. Slowly put a medium-sized of batter into the pot. The indication that you can now flip the pancakes if there are small bubbles that form into the pancake. Before lifting it on the other side.
