Keeping Your Baby’s Toys Clean and Safe

As a parent, it is important to ensure that your baby’s toys are kept clean and safe. From teething rings to rattles, every toy your baby plays with has the potential to harbor dirt, germs, and bacteria if not properly cleaned.

Let’s go over some tips on how to keep your baby’s toys clean and germ-free.

Wash soft toys regularly

Soft toys are staples in many households.  From stuffed animals to dolls, these playthings can become breeding grounds for germs and bacteria if not washed regularly.

It is recommended that you machine wash soft toys at least once per month or as needed when they become soiled or dirty.

For added protection, add a bit of detergent or bleach when washing the toys in order to kill any lingering germs.

Clean hard toys properly

Hard plastic toys should also be cleaned regularly in order to keep them germ-free.

To do so, simply wipe down the toys using a damp cloth and gentle dish soap or all-purpose cleaner.

Make sure that you wipe down the entire surface area of each toy – including any grooves or crevices – for optimal cleanliness!

Additionally, you may even want to consider wiping down hard plastic toys after each use.

This will help reduce the risk of passing germs from one child to another while playing with the same set of toys.

Sanitize teething rings & rattles

Babies love putting their mouths on almost anything – including their teething rings and rattles!

To ensure that these items remain safe for your little ones, it is important to sanitize them often.

You can do this by boiling them in water for about 5 minutes. Or, you can place them in a bowl filled with diluted bleach (1 cup of bleach per gallon of water).

Once finished boiling/soaking them, rinse the teething rings/rattles off with clean water. Then, your baby can play with them again!

Keeping a clean home environment is essential for both adults and children alike – especially when it comes to babies!

By following our tips above on how to clean baby’s toys, you can rest easy. Indeed, your little one will be playing with germ-free items that are safe for their health and wellbeing!

In addition to proper cleaning techniques, always make sure you inspect used items thoroughly before allowing your child access to them.

This will help reduce the risk of exposing your child(ren)to harmful materials such as lead paint or other toxins found in older products.

With just a few simple steps taken each day, you can ensure that your home remains hygienic and safe for all ages!
